Question
What are rough guideline temperatures to leave a downed deer overnight or to just continue hunting, without spoiling meat? Thanks.JD

John,

I don’t know the answer to your question.  There are many variables such as the condition of the deer before it was harvested (calm, running, etc.), where the wound occurred, etc.

In general, I like to recover deer and start eviscerating them within a few hours.

Enjoy creation,
