Question
I am in the middle of trying to choose a new broadhead to shoot. Right now I shoot some fixed blades that a very durable and a great head but I have trouble with “flyers” every once in a while. I feel like they are well tuned and group well but randomly have some that will float or dive therefore my confidence in them have dwindled. I’m considering switching to G5 broadheads and would like your opinion on the t3’s and havoc or any other head you would suggest and trust. I’m really am just looking for a broadhead I know will deliver a quick kill, great blood trail, be very accurate, and that i can have confidence in. I have a 27″ draw length and am pulling 65-68 lbs. Thank you in advance.

Austen,

I’ve shot G5 broadheads for years.  I used to shoot the G5 Striker and it served me very well!  The Striker is a fixed blade model that’s been ranked by several publications to be one of the sharpest broadheads on the market. I’ve never had trouble with them flying straight and they always produce a good blood trail if I do my job.

You can watch my daughter Raleigh tag a buck with a G5 Striker last year at this link: https://www.growingdeer.tv/episode/259

A couple of years ago I started using the G5 Havoc. I’ve tagged several deer, hogs, and turkeys with this broadhead.  I’ve been very impressed with it!  Watch the GrowingDeer episode at this link to watch Pro Staffer Seth Harker tag a good buck with a Havoc. Seth shoots a Prime bow with a 27″ draw and set to about the same weight as you use.

I believe you’ll be well satisfied with either the G5 Striker or Havoc!

Enjoy creation,
