What range finder do you use?

Hey Grant, I’ve been watching your episodes an learning all I can. I’m actually going to college for Fisheries & Wildlife Sciences and Management, so I always try to watch to take mental notes for the field and classroom. My question however is that, what type of rangefinder do you and your staff prefer to use? I was also wondering what is the holder you use for it so it kinda hangs at your hip for easy access.

I’m glad you are in a Fisheries & Wildlife Sciences program!  

I use a Nikon 5000 range finder. It works great!  I use the Nikon strap that comes with the unit or hang it on my Summit safety harness – depending on the setup.  I’m right-handed so I like the range finder on my right side so I can hold a bow or firearm with my left hand and use the range finder with my right.
